Exclusive: Another Child's Letter To San Francisco 49er Kyle Williams

I managed to get a hold of another letter from a child to San Francisco 49er Kyle Williams.

The 49ers/Giants championship game was a great match to watch. But also a frustrating one. Despite the 49er's anemic offense, the Giants weren't doing any better, taking a 17-14 lead in the game after a punt hit 49er returner Kyle Williams in the knee and put the Giants in 49er territory. It wouldn't be the first time he would screw up a punt return.

In overtime the 49ers stopped the Giants again and during another punt return, Kyle Williams didn't protect the ball and a Giants special teams player punched it out of his noodle grip. The Giants recovered deep in San Fran territory, kicked a field goal and are headed to the Super Bowl. Twitter was on fire about Kyle Williams - death threats, racial slurs, you name it, they said it. But was their anger only aimed at Twitter? Or did other people also have to deal with their wrath?

A Huffington Post writer's friend's son had a different point of view about the whole thing. Here's the account according to the Huff Post:

He was crying, saying of Kyle Williams, with the distinct sobs of a seven-year-old between each word, "But... why... did he... have to... fumble?"
[...]
Trying to get his son to stop crying, Michael asked him, "If you feel this way, how sad do you think Kyle Williams is?"
Owen paused a second, then asked his dad, "Can I write him a letter to make him feel better?"
So he did.

Pretty cool, right? Makes us adults come across as pretty terrible. But that wasn't the only letter written that day. Using my contacts deep within the bowels of the sports world, I managed to get my hands on a letter from 8 year old Chris who lives in Santa Clara. A letter that never made its way to Kyle Williams.

Yes, it's a joke. What's not a joke is that there probably a lot of dudes out there who take shit like sports team losses out on their wife and kids. When I lived in Denver, I had a friend who was a cop who told me domestic abuse calls would increase everytime the Broncos lost a game. And those idiots lost a lot of games.

While what Kyle Williams did was shitty for Niner fans, it's just a game. And it's even shittier if you hit your loved ones over a loss or for any reason. Your same sports heroes will be back next year but if you abuse your wife and kids, hopefully they cut your loser ass from the team.

Almost forgot, f the Giants.
